La fava viene coltivata in Puglia (Italia) dove si è ben adattata alle caratteristiche della Murgia al confine tra Puglia e Basilicata (Italia) e si alterna ed arricchisce i terreni coltivati a grano.


COME PREPARARE LE FAVE:

Tenere in ammollo la quantità desiderata di legumi, per circa 10-12 ore.

Cuocere a fuoco lento in un pentola facendo attenzione a coprire i legumi con acqua.

Aggiungere rispettando il proprio gusto: sale e sapori (cipolla, aglio, sedano, ecc.).

Aspettare il punto di cottura preferito.


COME MANGIARE LE FAVE:

Le fave sono consigliate per ogni fascia d’età.

Servire da sole in un piatto fondo aggiungendo un filo di olio extra vergine di oliva italiano, accompagnandoli con pane di Laterza.

Servire anche su un fondo di fette di pane oppure crostini di pane, i piatti che abbinano carboidrati e legumi rappresentano un buon modo per rispettare la dieta mediterranea.
