Tenuta Giustini, San Giorgio Jonico, Taranto, Puglia, Italy.
Our company was founded in 2006. In the early days, everything was an exciting challenge: to transform the experience and love for the vineyards handed down to us through the generations into wine. We wanted to make the wine our own way, by creating honest, simple and elegant wines that express the very essence of our land. We started this adventure with few resources, lots of ideas, and plenty of hard work and enthusiasm.
In 2015 our hard work came to fruition when we finally opened our very own winery. We now distribute our wines in more than 20 countries around the world.
We celebrated these achievements with a re-branding and a new line of wines: Terramè.
Salento – the “heel” of Italy, in the southern region of Apulia – has some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.
It makes the perfect natural setting for our 30 hectares of vineyards.
In Salento, you’re never from the sea. The region’s fertile soil, sea breezes and warm sunny climate have created the ideal conditions for our vines and native grape varieties to flourish. The rich potential of soil, climate, vines and grapes: a potential we believe in, a potential we strive every day to unlock.
Love and passion for what we do and for the wine that we make
Challenges and achievements, efforts and goals…
Proud of all that we’ve accomplished together in the past, we look forward to a future full of delight in a job well done.
The clones of our vines have been rigorously selected from one generation to the next to obtain the very best grapes for our wines.
We strive to bring out the best of our grapes through winter (dry) and summer (green) pruning, hand-tying the vine shoots, bud selection, pollarding, natural treatments, hand harvesting, and hand-sorting of the grapes. In the winery we work with low-temperature vinification techniques using selected native yeasts, a pneumatic pressing system and a pressure-controlled bottling system, to bring out the very best in our wines.
Care, for us, means dedicating exactly the right amount of time and attention to every step of the winemaking process – in the vineyards, in the winery or in the office…
Care means respecting the natural life cycle of our plants, from first bud to full flowering to harvest. Care is what helps us stay awake through the night as we work in the winery – decanting the must, keeping the wine in an optimal condition. Care is also, and above all, the care and attention we devote to the needs of you – our customers.
And care is the love we put into the wines that we make; the love and commitment that inspire us to constantly improve – day after day, year after year.
Our true strength is our team. Young and motivated, their ideas, enthusiasm and drive are what makes our winery truly unique.
